Benin is in stage 2 of the demographic transition model. The very high crude birth rate and low crude death rate show this. Benin is a developing country and is improving its public sanitation systems which is visible by the increasing population growth. The life expectancy is not very high but that is expected from a stage 2 country. The majority of the population is in the 0-15 age range and as they age, the population will go from a triangle shape to more of a cone shape.
